Exercising, working out and being active is not just for managing your weight! Watch the second part of a 3 part series where I talk about 5 health benefits of being active. Like we mentioned in our last video and post, our bodies are designed to be active and to be moving. When we do, it has anti-aging effects on our bodies. Our body is able to perform at its optimum. An example fo this is when we work out, we increase our circulation and blood flow. In turn, that said blood flow carries much-needed oxygen and nutrients to areas of the body that need attention in the form of repairs and recovery.
This leads into our next benefit.
2. Reduce Risk of Disease
Improved circulation helps reduce our risk of cardiovascular disease. Not only that, but by being active we reduce our risk of arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.
3. Improved Digestion
Being active can help improve our digestion and help our bodies eliminate toxins through our skin. Many people share the opinion that 85% of all chronic disease comes from the gut. This emphasizes the need to be regular and have healthy bowel movements.
4. Improved Energy Levels
If you struggle with feeling sluggish or lethargic, maybe lacking motivation or have a hard time to even get out of bed some mornings, being active can help. It can increase your energy and stamina in all avenues in your life, not just during your workouts.
5. Prevent Cognitive Decline
With all the increased blood flow and oxygen to the brain, this can help prevent cognitive decline, which we all experience as we get older. We tend to forget things and have a harder time to learn new things.
